Korean Ambassador meets DU VC

Dhaka, 4 March, 2025 (BSS) - South Korean Ambassador to Bangladesh Park Young-sik met Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan at the latter's office today. 

During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interests especially the possibilities of introducing undergraduate program on Korean Language at DU. 

They also discussed about progress of the ongoing pilot project titled 'Capacity Building of Universities in Bangladesh to Promote Youth Entrepreneurship' at DU with financial assistance from KOICA. 

The ambassador stressed the need for promoting entrepreneurs at university level to build a developed Bangladesh. He emphasized on strengthening regional cooperation to maintain social stability, peace and harmony in South Asia.

Prof. Niaz Ahmed Khan apprised the Ambassador of brief history of Dhaka University and its academic and research activities. 

He said, "The friendly ties between Bangladesh and Korea have been prevailing for a long time. Korea has contributed a lot to overall socio-economic development of Bangladesh."

This bilateral relationship will be further strengthened in the days to come, he hoped.
