IU renames 4 halls, academic building

ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY, Kushtia, March 5, 2025 (BSS)- The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia have changed name of its four residential halls and one academic building, previously named after former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her family members. 

The decision was taken at the syndicate meeting of the university held on February 26, said a notification signed by the IU acting registrar here today.
 
The renamed structures include Sheikh Hasina Hall, Sheikh Russel Hall, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall and Wazed Miah Science Building.

Those structures have been renamed as July-36 Hall, Shahid Anas Hall, Shah Azizur Rahman Hall, Ummul Mu'minin Ayesha Siddika Hall and Ibn Sina Science Building respectively, said the notification.
