DHAKA, April 6, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to freeze 34 bank accounts of former Director General (DG) of Special Security Force (SSF) Lieutenant General (sacked) Md Mujibur Rahman and his wife Tasrin Mujib over graft allegations.

The court also ordered to attach two flats, a plot with the building on it, and 42.30 katha plots of the couple.

Dhaka Metroplotan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Of the bank accounts, 24 are in the name of Mujibur and 10 in his wife's name. Of the immovable properties, one 4,050sqf flat is in Matikata Mirpur, one in Dhaka Cantonment area, a building in Narayanganj and plots under 11 deeds in the capital's Khilkhet, Mirpur, Savar and Cantonment areas.

The ACC in its plea said the commission is probing allegations of amassing illegal wealth, against the former SSF DG and his wife and the accused are trying to sell, transfer or hand over the ill gotten money and properties to hinder the probe.

"So their bank accounts should be frozen and assets should be attached for the sake of proper investigation," the plea added.
