DMP issues guideline for participating in Ananda Shovajatra

DHAKA, April 12, 2025 (BSS) – The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has taken necessary security plan to ensure security for the Ananda Shovajatra, the main attraction of the celebration of the Pahela Baishakh, the first day of the Bangla New Year, 1432, to celebrate the event in a joyful and festive atmosphere. 
   
The DMP has also issued a guideline for the Ananda Shovajatra. 
 
The Shovajatra will start from in front of Fine Arts Department, Dhaka University and march through U-turn at Shahbagh intersection - TSC intersection-Shibbari crossing - Raman crossing - Doel Chattar - TSC intersection and end at Fine Arts Department, Dhaka University. 

The DMP has requested the city residents who wish to participate in the Ananda procession to follow the following route-

1. From Intercontinental Hotel, they can go right from Shahbagh intersection, go through Kantabon crossing and join VC Bungalow intersection via Nilkhet intersection.

2. People coming from New Market can join VC Bungalow intersection via Nilkhet.

3. People coming from Palashi can go right from Nilkhet intersection via Palashi and join VC Bungalow intersection.

4. People coming from Chankharpul and Bakshi Bazar can join VC Bungalow intersection via Nilkhet.

The festival of Pohela Baishakh is a universal festival. Dhaka Metropolitan Police seeks everyone's full cooperation to celebrate this festival in a joyful atmosphere.
