DHAKA, April 12, 2025 (BSS) - All have been requested to remain cautious and play a responsible role while producing news related to the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT).

A press release signed by Md Masud Rana, Administrative Officer of the office of the Chief Prosecutor at the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), made the urge today.

It strongly condemned and protested the distorted presentation and dissemination of the statement of the Chief Prosecutor of ICT.

"We call on the relevant media to withdraw the news report and at the same time urge everyone to exercise caution and play a responsible role in reporting news related to the International Crimes Tribunal," the release said.

The statement, according to the release, given by the Chief Prosecutor at the view-sharing meeting with journalists covering the International Crimes Tribunal on April 10 was distorted by a media outlet.

The statement made by the Chief Prosecutor, quoting him said, "If the trial is conducted properly, the number of senior generals in the forces will not be there" is completely misleading, untrue, and purposely motivated.

Chief Prosecutor did not make any such statement rather the concerned reporter, unable to understand the content of the statement, created controversy by giving a misleading headline.

The concerned media outlet has been urged to withdraw the concerned news report.
