Dhaka, April 18, 2025 (BSS) - A delegation from Asian Network for Free Elections (ANFREL), a Bangkok-based international election monitoring organization, met with BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir at BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan this morning.

The four-member delegation, led by ANFREL Executive Director Brija Rosales, includes Maya Bati, Tharindu Abeyaratna and Afsana Ame.

The delegation discussed issues such as the upcoming parliamentary elections in Bangladesh and international election observers with the BNP Secretary General.

Established in 1997, ‘ENFREL’ is an independent and non-partisan non-governmental organization that works to ensure free and fair elections in Asia based on universal and equal suffrage. It includes 27 member organizations from 17 Asian countries.

These include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and East Timor.
