Dr Yunus is trying to project Bangladesh as finest country: Sharmeen Murshid

DHAKA, April 23, 2025(BSS) - Adviser for Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs Sharmeen S Murshid today said Chief Adviser of the interim government Prof Dr Muhammad Yunus is trying to project Bangladesh as one of the finest countries of the world.

"Like Prof Yunus, we are trying to project the social welfare ministry as one of the finest ministries of the country," she said this while inaugurating the Deputy Directors (DDs) Conference-2025 at the Madhumoti Auditorium of the Social Service Department here as chief guest.

The main theme of the two-day long DD conference is 'Go forward with the stakeholders for facing the challenges of social development.'

Chaired by the Director General (DG) of the Social Service Department Md Saidur Rahman Khan, Secretary of the social welfare ministry Dr Md Mohiuddin addressed the conference as special guest. The conference was attended, among others, by senior officers of the ministry, representatives from different social and non-government organizations of the country.

"We got a chance to build our country in a new pattern and have to bring discipline in the ministry by removing the garbage and keeping us beyond corruption," the adviser said, adding that the officials of the republic would have to work with transparency and efficiency to fulfill the desire of the government.

Sharmeen S Murshid said that the interim government has emerged through a historical conception and the July revolution occurred against the misrule, and corruption of the previous government.
