DHAKA, April 23, 2025 (BSS) - Acting chairman of BNP Tarique Rahman today said the invisible opponent is gradually becoming visible and spreading propaganda against BNP.
He called upon leaders and activists to collectively confront this conspiracy.
Tarique Rahman made this call during a virtual speech from London in the training workshops for party leaders and workers of Rangpur, Nilphamari and Syedpur upazila on party’s 31-point state restructure and welfare agenda.
Leaders and workers from different levels participated in the workshops organized by the BNP Central Training Committee at Nilphamari Shilpakala Auditorium and Rangpur Shilpakala Academy auditorium.
Tarique Rahman said BNP does not want to take revenge against the oppressors for the injustice in the past.
"We do not want to do what they had done. The implementation of 31 points will be revenge for all oppression and torture," he said.
The top BNP leader said that uniting the people for the building the country is now the main task of BNP.
“If something needs to be done for the people of the country, only BNP can do it,” he said adding that the confidence of the common people in BNP must be maintained.
He urged the leaders and workers to convey the 31-point BNP at the grassroots level.
The BNP leader announced that BNP would take initiative to provide allowance to the educated unemployed youths if it comes to power.
In addition, agriculture would be modernized and separate arrangements would be made for farmers, he added.
BNP will also provide support to youths to create entrepreneurs and export their products abroad, he said.
BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, BNP Chairperson's Advisor Ismail Zabiullah, BNP Training Affairs Secretary Rasheda Begum Hira, former Chhatra Dal General Secretaries Iqbal Hossain Shyamal and Saif Mahmud Jewel also spoke on the occasion.
District BNP President Alamgir Sarkar presided over the workshop and District BNP Organizing Secretary Shefaul Jahangir Alam Shepur conducted it.
Tarique Rahman said BNP’s founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and former premier Begum Khaleda Zia got the opportunity to run the country.
“They worked for improvement of the country's education, health, infrastructure development and increase agricultural production. They ensured the freedom of the press and increased the number of female seats in the parliament,” he said.
Tarique Rahman said for the past 15 years, the autocratic government tried to divide the nation tagging them in different groups to retain in power.
"We have to try to reduce differences and keep the nation united to move forward the country,” he said.
"We will not look to the religious identity of a person, rather we will consider one as a Bangladeshi to build a harmonious country for people of all religions," he said.
He said about 30 million people are unemployed. It will not be possible to move forward the country forward keeping so many people unemployed. Therefore, the employment sector must be expanded.
Tarique Rahman said there are many acceptable people in the society who want to work for the country. But they are not involved with regular politics. BNP will give opportunities to those people from different professions including teachers, journalists, lawyers to work for the development of the society, he said.
