Weather may remain mainly dry over country

DHAKA, April 24, 2025(BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast that the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country for the next 24 hours beginning at 9 am today.

"Rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions during the period", it said.

Mild and moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the districts of Manikganj, Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj, Dinajpur and Nilphamari and it may continue.

Country's maximum temperature was recorded 39.8 degrees Celsius at Jashore today and minimum temperature was recorded 21.2 degrees Celsius at Dimla in Rangpur division.

Maximum rainfall was recorded 50 millimeter (mm) in Sylhet in the last 24 hours as of 9 am today.  

The sun sets at 6:24 PM today and rises at 05:29 AM tomorrow in the capital.
