Mild to moderate heat wave sweeps over parts of country

DHAKA, April 25, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today said that mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over different parts of the country.

"Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the districts of Tangail, Manikgonj, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue," said a BMD bulletin issued this morning commencing 9am.

Rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, the BMD predicted. 

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country. 

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded 39.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi district in Rajshahi division and minimum temperature today was recorded 22.0 degrees Celsius at Tetulia in Rangpur division and Sylhet district in Sylhet division.

The sun sets today at 06.25pm and rises at 05.28am tomorrow in the capital.
