Tarique Rahman mourns ex-MP Saleha Khanam's death

DHAKA, April 25, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former lawmaker Saleha Khanam who passed away at 10:20 pm last night at Evercare Hospital in the capital.

Saleha is the mother of BNP National Executive Committee Fishermen Affairs Secretary and former parliamentarian Lutfar Rahman Kajol.

In a condolence message today, the BNP acting chairman said as an ideal mother, she raised all her children as well-educated and well-behaved.

She was also highly respected by everyone as a pious woman while she was a strong follower of the principles and ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, said Tarique Rahman.

He said local people elected her as a member of parliament for her contribution to public welfare. 

She was also generous in helping the helpless and the example she left as a mother will inspire her children forever, he said.

Tarique Rahman prayed for the bereaved family to gain the strength to bear this loss. 

He prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and expressed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family, relatives and well-wishers.
