Country’s crisis period is not over: Rizvi

DHAKA, April 25, 2025 (BSS) – BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today said the country’s crisis has not been over as the false cases filed against 60 lakh BNP leaders and activists have not been withdrawn.

“It is true that we are living in a period that appears to be more peaceful, but the reality is that nearly six million BNP leaders and activists remain entangled in false and fabricated cases filed during the fascist rule of Sheikh Hasina. We cannot say the crisis is over,” he said.

Rizvi was addressing a programme organized by “Amra BNP Paribar” this afternoon at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan.

 “Already we are hearing echoes of fascism again. This is not only unfortunate but also dangerous,” he added.

He also questioned why action was not taken against former Chief Election Commissioner Rakibul Huda for his role in undermining free and fair elections in Bangladesh.

BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee, Treasurer M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, Gazipur District BNP Convener Fazlul Haque Milon, advisors to “Amra BNP Paribar” Engineer Mostafa-e-Zaman Selim, Abul Kashem and Alomgir Kabir, among others, also addressed on the occasion, chaired by Mokhsedul Momin Mithun, Member Secretary of “Amra BNP Paribar.
