DU VC urges Alumni to unite for university's development

DHAKA, April 26, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan urged the alumni to set aside political differences and unite for the development of the university.

He made the call while inaugurating 'Boishakhi reunion' organized by Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA) at the Teachers-Students Centre (TSC) today.

Addressing the event, DU VC said "Political divisions have harmed us in many ways. Now is the time to move beyond these divisions and work together for the university's development, especially after student led uprising movement."

Highlighting the growing role and activities of DUAA, Prof Niaz said that the association's engagement with the university has expanded significantly, with contributing to various voluntary and development initiatives.

Expressing optimism about the future, DU VC said, "We are going through a critical period. Events like these reunions can play an important role in fostering unity among all stakeholders."

DUAA convener Shamsuzzaman Dudu presided over the event while Pro-VC (Administration) Prof Sayema Haque Bidisha, treasurer Prof M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, proctor Saifuddin Ahmed, among others, were present at the event.
