Seminar on higher education & research in Russia held at BRUR

RANGPUR, April 26, 2025 (BSS) - A seminar on 'Research and higher education in Russia' was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) for its teachers and students on Saturday afternoon.
 
Vice-chancellor of the university Professor Dr. Md. Showkat Ali as the chief guest attended the seminar held at the virtual classroom of Academic Building-2 of the university.
 
Director of the Office of Student Affairs of BRUR Professor Dr. Md. Ilias Pramanik, its Registrar Dr. Md. Harun-or Rashid, Counselor of the Russian Embassy in Dhaka Pavel Dvoychenkov and Treasurer of Stamford University Dr. Md. Ziaul Hasan, were present as the guests of honor.
 
Addressing the event, the Vice-chancellor said that arrangements are being made for BRUR students to learn different languages for their skill development outside of academic studies.
 
"If arrangements can be made to learn Russian locally, it will be easier for our students and researchers to pursue higher education in Russia," he said.
 
He also said that language and cultural exchange will play an important role in developing relations between Russia and Bangladesh.
 
The Vice-chancellor called on the authorities concerned for creating opportunities for BRUR students in higher education and research in various universities in Russia.
 
Teachers and students of various departments of the university participated in the seminar.
