DHAKA, April 26, 2025 (BSS) – The closing ceremony of “Bangladesh Amateur Open-2025” was held today at the hall room of Savar Golf Club in Savar Cantonment.

Chief of Army Staff and President of Bangladesh Golf Federation, General Waker-Uz-Zaman attended the event as  chief guest, said an ISPR release.

Speaking on the occasion after the prize distribution, the Army Chief expressed hope that holding of such tournaments would play a significant role in the development of golf in the country.

He also expressed his gratitude to everyone involved in organizing the event.

A total of 102 golfers from seven countries, including Bangladesh, took part in the tournament.

In the men’s singles, Bangladeshi soldier Md Sahab Uddin was crowned champion while Pakistan’s Noman Elias became  runner- up.

Malaysia’s Harij Hejri and Farij Ajihan won the men’s team event,  while Bangladesh’s Mehedi Hasan and Munna Mia secured the runners-up position.

In the women’s singles, Pakistan’s Aniya Farooq Sayeed won the championship and Parkha Ijaz of Pakistan became the runner-up.

Parkha Ijaz and Aniya Farooq Sayeed also won the women’s team event, while Bangladesh A team’s Nasima Akhter and Sonia Akhter finished as runners-up.

Senior military and civilian officials, Chief Executive Officer of Savar Golf Club, Chairman of the tournament committee, members of the executive committee, sponsors, other dignitaries, players and media personnel attended the closing ceremony.
