Mild to moderate heat wave sweeps over parts of country

DHAKA, April 27, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted that mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over different parts of the country.

"Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Rajshahi division and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Manikgonj, Maulvibazar, Khulna, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue," said a BMD bulletin issued this morning commencing 9am.

Rain/thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Chattogram divisions.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 38.3 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi district in Rajshahi division and minimum temperature today was recorded 19.005 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat under Rangpur district.

The sun sets today at 06.26pm and rises at 05.27am tomorrow in the capital.
