Rain, thundershowers likely in parts of country

DHAKA, April 28, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted that rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind may occur at different parts of the country in the next 24 hours, commencing 9 am today.

"Rain or thundershowers with lightning flashes and temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions," said a Met office bulletin issued this morning.

Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Gopalgonj, Pabna, Sirajganj, Jashore and Patuakhali and it may abate, the bulletin added.

Day temperature may fall by (1-2) øC and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
                       
Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 37.4 degrees Celsius at Jashore in Khulna division and minimum temperature today was recorded 19.4 degrees Celsius at Rangpur, Sayedpur and Rajarhat in Rangpur division.

The sun sets today at 06:26pm and rises at 05:26am tomorrow in the capital.
