DHAKA, April 28, 2025(BSS) - Education Adviser Dr C R Abrar today stressed on integrating technical education with the main stream education system of the country.

“We have to come out from the negative perception of technical education,” he said while addressing a seminar on “Improving quality of technical education-possibilities and responsibilities in world perspective” at International Mothers Language Institute Auditorium here as the chief guest.

The adviser said structural reforms in the technical education sector is required since the technical education is long been neglected in the country.
In this connection, he said there is a shortage of efficient teachers on trade- based educational institutions in the country. Steps should be taken to update the technical education to remove all those barriers, he added.

He said there are many unemployed educated youths in the country, so especial emphasis should be given on the technical education to solve the problem.

Dr Abrar told the seminar that the students, who joined the July uprising have been going through a trauma, so normal behavior from all of the students should not be expected. Under this circumstance, they (students) have to be brought to classroom through understanding.

“We have been passing a difficult time now and everybody should have patience. All demands should be placed with due honour and there must be a scope of reconciliation,” he said.

Chaired by Secretary to the Technical and Madrasha wing of the education ministry Dr K M Kabirul Islam, Secretary to the Secondary and Higher Education Siddiq Jubayer, Chairman of the National Skill Development Authority Miss Nasreen Afroz and Director General of the Technical Education Directorate Shoaib Ahmed Khan were present as special guests.
