62 police personnel receive BPM, PPM awards

DHAKA, April 29, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 62 police personnel have been awarded the Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and President's Police Medal (PPM) for their outstanding service and acts of bravery as well courage.

The awards were presented today as part of the inauguration ceremony of "Police Week-2025," inaugurated by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.

This year, the medals were conferred in four categories. According to official data, 15 police personnel received the BPM for gallantry, while 13 others were honoured with the BPM for service. Additionally, 13 personnel were awarded the PPM for bravery, and 21 received the PPM for their distinguished service.

The Bangladesh Police Medal (BPM) and the President's Police Medal (PPM) are the highest honors awarded to police personnel in Bangladesh for distinguished service and bravery. 

Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Moinul Islam, Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) AKM Shahidur Rahman, Additional IGP Abu Naser Mohammad Khaled, Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Hasib Aziz, Joint Commissioner of DB-South under Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Nasirul Islam, Additional Commissioner of CMP Md Asfiquzzaman Aktar, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Khagrachari Md Arefin Jewel, SP of Chattogram Md Saiful Islam Santu, Deputy Commissioner of DMP Rownok Alam, Additional SP of Gazipur Aminul Islam, Inspector, RI of Police Headquarters Abdur Razzak Akand, Inspector of Sonadanga Model Police Station under Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Md Shafiqul Islam, Habildar of RAB-15, Cox's Bazar Md Saiful Islam and Constable of Bangladesh Secretariat under DMP Md Ruhul Amin Bhuiyan received BPM medals for their outstanding performance.
