BRUR, DS2S project sign MoU on students' employability

RANGPUR, April 30, 2025 (BSS) - Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Digital Skills to Succeed in Asia (DS2S) project of the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on increasing skills and employability of students. 

The MoU was signed in the country planning meeting of the Digital Skills to Succeed in Asia project held at the Rajendrapur Brac CDM Center in Gazipur district on Tuesday," said a BRUR press release issued here last night.

BRUR Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Showkat Ali and GIZ's Project Head Dr. Christian Bachmann inked the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions.

Through this MoU, a micro-credential course curriculum will be developed for BRUR students. These courses will mainly help students develop various digital skills including AI, data-driven decision making and digital entrepreneurship. 

These courses will be short-term and will help students who are not from the Faculty of Technology to develop their understanding of technology and acquire skills through hands-on experience. 

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology of BRUR Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman, Project Director of GIZ Sabrina Garcia, Education and Youth Advisor of the Digital Skills to Succeed in Asia project Rumana Akhter and other relevant persons were present at the event, the release added.
