Police exchanges views with advisers

DHAKA, April 30, 2025 (BSS) - Senior police officers of Bangladesh Police today held a meeting with advisers of various ministries marking the Police Week 2025.
 
The meeting was held tonight at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium at Rajarbagh Police Lines here under the chairmanship of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Baharul Alam, said a press release of the Police Headquarters.
 
Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul, Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.), Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb and Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser on Home Ministry Md. Khuda Baksh Chowdhury, were present as guests in the meeting.
 
Senior secretaries, secretaries of the concerned ministries were also present in the meeting.
 
President of the Implementation Sub-Committee of the Exchange of Views and Additional IG of Highway Police Md. Delwar Hossain Miah gave the address of welcome.
 
Officers from the Superintendent of Police and above were present at the event.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Law Adviser Dr Asif Nazrul said that that necessary reforms will be made to protect the dignity of the police.
 
He praised the unique role of the police during the War of Independence.
 
The Home Adviser Lieutenant General Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) said that the law and order situation is currently improving.
 
"There is an opportunity to improve it further," he said.
 
He thanked the police members for performing their duties with dedication during the last Eid-ul-Fitr and other events.
 
Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan said that the police after August 5 will be the people's police.
 
He urged the police to become the people's police instead of the fascist police.
 
The advisers present at the meeting assured of implementing of various rational proposals raised by the police officers.
