Hundreds visits Bangladesh Embassy's 'Open House' in Washington

DHAKA, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Embassy in Washington D.C. has hosted an 'Open House' event as part of the "Passport DC Embassy Tour 2025" on Saturday, which drew nearly 3,000 visitors from various nationalities.

Passport DC is a cultural program in Washington that showcases the heritage, arts, lifestyle, and traditions of countries through their respective embassies.

To highlight Bangladesh's rich heritage, the Embassy set up stalls at its auditorium displaying traditional handicrafts, including Jamdani and Tangail sarees, according to a press release received here today.

Visitors were also provided with posters, leaflets, and books depicting Bangladesh's history of independence, the historic Language Movement, and the country's vibrant culture and tourist attractions.

Embassy officials, staff, and their children performed patriotic songs and dances, adding to the festive atmosphere. 

Traditional Bangladeshi cuisine was also exhibited and served to the guests, giving them a taste of the country's culinary heritage.
