JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - An annual research project seminar, focusing on the presentation of research summaries, was held today at Jahangirnagar University (JU).

The Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, the Institute of Information Technology (IIT), and Institute of Remote Sensing and GIS jointly organized the seminar around 9:30am at the Mathematical and Physical Sciences faculty building of the university.

While inaugurating the seminar, Prof Dr Mohammad Mahfuzur Rahman, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic), said, "We need a common platform where all researchers can present their work for collective evaluation. Today's initiatives could foster multidimensional research experiences among faculty members."

He also emphasized the need to select the most notable research papers from the faculty for dedicated seminars and to introduce awards for the selected researchers to encourage continued research efforts.

"We have increased financial allocations for researchers and are encouraging experienced researchers to support emerging ones to improve the quality of their research," he added.

He also underscored the importance of compiling high-quality research articles for publication in a journal.

Acting Dean of the Faculty of Mathematical and Physical Sciences Prof Dr Mahbub Kabir presided over the event, while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Dr Sohel Ahmed attended the inaugural ceremony as special guest.

Faculty members from various departments under the faculty were also present at the seminar.
