OPCW team inspects chemical units in Bangladesh

DHAKA, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - An inspection team from Organization for the 
Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) have inspected chemical units of 
Bangladesh throughout a long-week.

The two member OPCW delegation inspected the factories of Berger Paints 
Bangladesh Limited in Savar and Rhymer Chemical Industries Limited in Valuka 
during the inspection since May 11 this month as a routine inspection work of 
the organization.

Bangladesh National Authority for Chemical Weapons Convention (BNACWC) 
coordinated with the OPCW team during the whole visit.

After the completing the inspection, the team met BNACWC chairman Lieutenant 
General S M Kamrul Hassan and acclaimed Bangladesh Government's initiatives 
and BNACWC's efforts to implement Chemical Weapon Convention. 

The inspection delegation left Dhaka on May 17 after their successful 
inspection, a press release from ISPR said today.
