Maldives High Commissioner calls on DU VC

DHAKA, May 19, 2025 (BSS) - Maldives High Commissioner to Bangladesh Shiuneen Rasheed today paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan at the latter's office on the campus.

During the meeting, they exchanged views regarding various issues, including the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs on international relations, migration and development studies, oceanography and tourism and hospitality between the two countries.

According to the meeting, international seminar, conference, symposium, workshop and online classes will be arranged under the joint auspices of DU and different universities in Maldives.
 
The requirement of exchanging students, teachers and researchers between the countries was also discussed at the meeting.

They also agreed to sign a MoU between DU and National University of Maldives in this regard soon.

VC Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan emphasized on strengthening international cooperation to face various regional challenges, including environmental ones.

He thanked Shiuneen Rasheed for visiting Dhaka University and expressing interest in collaborating on its academic and research initiatives.

Second Secretary of the High Commission Ahmed Maishaan was present at the meeting.
