BSF pushes 21 people into Bangladesh thru Sylhet border

SYLHET, May 24, 2025 (BSS) - Indian Border Security Force (BSF) today reportedly pushed 21 individuals inside Bangladesh through Kanaighat border of the district, security and law enforcement officials said.

They were pushed in through Sanatanpunji area of Kanaighat border this morning.

Among them, 12 are men, 4 women and 5 are children.

Lt Col Md Zubair Anwar, Commanding Officer of Zakiganj BGB-19 Battalion, said that BGB arrested 21 people after they were pushed in from India through Sanatanpunji border area. 

Initial interrogation of the detainees is underway. Work is underway to confirm their identities. 

Later, action will be taken as per the law, he said.
