Adviser Farooq E Azam mourns death of July Shaheed Hasan

DHAKA, May 24, 2025 (BSS) - Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq E Azam has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the passing of Shaheed Md Hasan, a warrior of the July Mass Uprising.

In a condolence message issued today, the Adviser said the nation will forever remember with profound respect the sacrifice of Shaheed Md Hasan, who was critically injured during the July Mass Uprising and later succumbed to his injuries. He prayed for the salvation of the departed soul and extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Md Hasan was critically injured on August 5, 2024, during the July Mass Uprising in Chattogram. He was initially admitted to Chattogram Medical College Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka. Later, for advanced treatment, he was taken to Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand, and subsequently to Payathai Phaholyothin Hospital in the same city.

Hasan passed away at the hospital at 11:10pm on Thursday while undergoing treatment. He was 25 years old at the time of his death.

His body was brought to Dhaka today at 6pm by a Bangladesh Biman flight. Adviser Farooq E Azam, Secretary of the Ministry Israt Chowdhury, members of the deceased's family, and officials from the Laxmipur district administration were present at the airport to receive the body.

As per his mother's wish, Hasan will be laid to rest in the Subarnachar area of Noakhali district. The Noakhali district administration has made all necessary arrangements for his burial under the supervision of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs.
