TANGAIL, May 25, 2025 (BSS)- Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser 
Syeda Rizwana Hasan today said that 129 cases filed against indigenous 
communities and forest dwellers in Madhupur upazila of the district will be 
withdrawn.

She also declared plans to re-plant Sal trees in the Sal forests of the area. 

She said, "We will bring back Sal trees to the Sal forests."

Mentioning more and more Sal trees should be planted in the upcoming monsoon 
season, the adviser said: "The forest dwellers here must play a role in 
protecting this forest. Students are also being involved in these efforts." 

Boundary pillars are being installed to identify encroached areas within the 
forest, she added.
 
Rizwana Hasan made these remarks to journalists while planting Sal saplings 
in the Telki area of the upazila under the Tangail Forest Department.

She further added that the commercial planting of eucalyptus and acacia trees 
in the Sal forest will be gradually stopped. 

Moreover, the adviser inaugurated the "Restoration of Madhupur Sal Forest 
through Local Community Participation" project by inspecting boundary 
demarcation work and installing boundary pillars in the Rajabari area of 
Madhupur forest.

Prominent Wildlife Expert Professor Dr. Mohammad Ali Reza Khan, Chief 
Conservator of Forests Md. Amir Hossain Chowdhury, Deputy Commissioner 
Sharifah Haq and other officials of the forest department were present in the 
event.
