DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 83 new dengue patients were admitted 
to different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

"During the period, 62 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, eight 
in Chattogram, one in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and 12 were 
admitted in the different hospitals in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC)," 
said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services 
(DGHS) today.

The total number of cases rose to 4,783 while 23 deaths from the mosquito-
borne disease were reported this year.

During the period, 83 patients were discharged from different hospitals 
across the country after receiving treatment.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from 
dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
