Discussion on maintenance of witness’s production, judicial register held

DHAKA, June 4, 2025 (BSS)- A discussion on  ‘Maintenance of Witnesse’s Production and  Judicial Register’  was held at the conference room of the Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court yesterday.

Prosecution wing of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has organized the discussion with Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the prosecution wing Md Tarek Jubair in the chair. 

Senior Special Judge of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Court Mohammad Zakir Hossain Galib was present at the discussion as the chief guest while Additional Commissioner (crime and operations) of the DMP SN Md Nazrul Islam, acting President and General Secretary of Dhaka Bar Association Abdur Razzak and Md Nazrul Islam were present as special guests.

The Metropolitan Sessions Judge in his presidential speech said that virtual presence of the prosecution witnesses would be increased for ensuring presence of the witnesses in the court. 

“The production system of the witnesses before the court should be modernized and time befitting   for ensuring true and fair justice”, he added.

DMP’s Additional Commissioner Nazrul Islam said that the discussion has made a bridge between the police and the judiciary and stressed the need for making the judicial process as efficient and speedy by maintaining the production of witnesses and judicial register.

DMP DC Tarek Jubair emphasized on digitization of judicial process and updating the maintenance of daily judicial register for ensuring justice to coup with the modern world. 

Moderated by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the prosecution wing Mainuddin Chowdhury, public prosecutors of different courts, additional and assistant prosecutors were present at the function.
