5 dengue patients die, 159 hospitalised in last 24hrs

DHAKA, June 13, 2025 (BSS) - Five dengue patients died in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning, including four in Barguna - the highest single-day death toll from dengue this year.

Moreover, 159 dengue patients have been hospitalised in the last 24 hours, with 124 of them from the Barishal division, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the new cases, the total number of dengue cases this year rose to 5,570, of whom 4,255 are from outside Dhaka.

A total of 5,011 patients have been released so far across the country.
Currently, 5,311 dengue patients are undergoing treatment, including 404 from outside Dhaka.
