234 dengue patients hospitalized in 24hrs

DHAKA, June 16, 2025 (BSS) - A total of 234 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.

"During the period, 119 were hospitalised in Barishal, 29 in Chattogram, 32 in Dhaka division, 15 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 28 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), five in Khulna division, one in Mymensingh and five were admitted to different hospitals in Rajshahi division," said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

During the same period, 190 patients were discharged from hospitals. 
With the latest figures, the total number of dengue cases reported this year has reached 6,222. So far, 30 people have died from the mosquito-borne disease in 2025.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214, while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported, the DGHS statement added.
