Govt. opens upgraded version of labour affairs helpline 16357

DHAKA, July 2, 2025 (BSS) - The upgraded version of labour affairs helpline 
16357 of the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE) 
under the labour and employment ministry has been inaugurated today.

The labour and employment secretary AHM Safiquzzaman inaugurated the service 
at Shramo Bhaban as the chief guest.

The upgraded helpline is a breakthrough for protecting right and welfare of 
the laborer people, said the labour and employment secretary.

Under the service, 4,838 cases out of 6,196 allegations have been 
successfully disposed through the helpline during 2024-25 fiscal year.

The launching of upgraded version of 16357 labour related helpline would 
possible to provide more services in quickest possible time.

The labor secretary said the toll free number 16357 will provide services 
free of cost round the clock.

The labour salary/wages, maternity welfare benefit, illegally termination, 
work related facilities, security of working places, labor-owner dispute, 
working hours and holiday, child labor prevention and any labour related 
allegation would be received and disposed through the services.

Chaired by DIFE Inspector General Omar M Imrul Mohsin, the meeting was 
attended, among others, by DIFE and ministry officials, representative of 
different labor organizations and media people.
