DHAKA, July 3, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui today inaugurated the week-long 'Tree Plantation Campaign-2025' of the paramilitary force.

The BGB chief inaugurated the campaign by planting a Bakul tree sapling on the Bakultala premises of the BGB headquarters in Pilkhana this morning.

The theme of this year's national tree plantation campaign drive is "Planned afforestation, build a green Bangladesh".

Highlighting this theme, the BGB chief asked all to plant trees in the right places in all BGB establishments across the country, including the headquarters in a planned way, and called for their proper care and maintenance to make this program successful.

"We have gathered here today for a great purpose. Exactly one year ago in July, a new time has come to take the country forward and build the country through the student-public mass uprising," he said.

For that purpose, various forces of the country and people from all walks of life are trying to build the country in a new way, he continued.

The BGB chief prayed for the eternal peace of all the martyrs of the July Mass Uprising and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
