DHAKA, July 3, 2025 (BSS) – The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka today handed over a consignment of anti-dengue supplies to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) as part of its continued support to Bangladesh’s fight against dengue.
The handover ceremony was attended by Dr. Liu Yuyin, Chargé d’Affaires of the Chinese Embassy, Professor Dr. Md. Sayedur Rahman, Special Assistant to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and Prof. Dr. Md. Abu Jafor, Director General of DGHS.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Liu reiterated China’s commitment to being a good neighbour, friend, and partner of Bangladesh.
He said the donation reflects the implementation of key understandings between the leaders of the two countries and underscores China’s ongoing support for Bangladesh’s healthcare sector.
“China will continue to work with Bangladesh to promote public health cooperation and build a community of shared future for global health,” he added.
Professor Dr. Sayedur Rahman thanked the Chinese government for its consistent support, calling China a reliable development partner.
He noted that the donated supplies would help ease the growing pressure of the dengue outbreak and expressed hope for deeper bilateral collaboration in the health and other sectors.
Officials from both countries were present at the ceremony, which marked another step forward in the longstanding partnership between Bangladesh and China.
