DHAKA, July 4, 2025 (BSS) - Water levels at 20 river stations monitored by Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) have marked rise while 94 stations recorded fall.
Among the 119 monitored river stations, water levels at five stations have remained steady while no stations are flowing above the danger level, a bulletin issued by the FFWC said here today.
The bulletin said the water level of the Surma River is decreasing, while the water level of the Kushiyara River remains steady while this trend may continue for the next 24 hours, while on the 2nd and 3rd days (5th to 7th July), the water levels of these rivers may start to rise and may flow at warning level in Sylhet district.
The water level of the Teesta River is rising, which may continue over the next 24 hours and then remain steady for the following two days. Within the next 24 hours, the water level of the Teesta River may flow at warning level in Nilphamari, Rangpur, and Lalmonirhat districts.
The water levels of the Brahmaputra and Jamuna rivers are decreasing, a trend that may continue for the next day. On the 2nd day, the water levels may remain steady, and on the next 3 days (July 6-9).
The water level of the Ganges River remains steady which may continue for next 1 day and may start to rise over the next 4 days (July 5 to July 9).
On the other hand, the water level of the Padma River is decreasing, a trend that may persist for the next two days, remain steady on the third and fourth days.
