RAJSHAHI, July 4, 2025 (BSS) - Rajshahi University (RU) has approved its annual budget worth around Taka 564.34 crore for 2025-2026 FY earmarking Taka 15.03 crore for research purposes.

On the other-hand, the highest Taka 422.97 crore was earmarked for salaries, allowance and pension which is 76.5 percent of the total expenditure budget.

Prof Akhter Hossain Mazumder, Administrator of RU Public Relation Office, here today said the budget has been approved in the recently held meeting of syndicate, the highest policy-making body of the public university.

Prof Mazumder said the new budget has given importance on instruments and equipment in the laboratories for the students. Special budgetary allocation was given in some of the fields.

He also said allocation has been inclined for sports. The budget has considered the issue of internship and enhanced rate scholarship for the meritorious students.
 
Fund allocation was also given for establishing water treatment plants at different places in the campus, repairing of seven roads and procurement of two student buses.
