Rain likely across country

DHAKA, July 5, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecast light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds at different parts of the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 9am.

According to a Met office bulletin issued this morning, rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions.

The bulletin said moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may occur at places over the country.

Day temperatures may fall slightly, while night temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged, it added. 

The country's highest temperature on Friday was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius in Dimla and Rangpur, while the lowest temperature today was 23.5 degrees Celsius in Tangail. 

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:50pm today and rise at 5:16am tomorrow.
