DHAKA, July 5, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Zila Parishad has invited participatory ideas from young people aged between 15-30 years to commemorate the July mass uprising.
This announcement was made in a revised circular signed by Dhaka Zila Parishad’s Chief Executive Officer Md. Mamun Khandaker issued on July 2.
According to the notice, under the initiative of the Local Government Division, an “Idea Competition” is being organized to mark the anniversary of the student-people mass uprising that took place in July–August 2024.
The goal is to inspire the youth to actively participate in nation-building through the spirit of July, aiming to construct a new, discrimination-free Bangladesh. The theme of this year’s competition is: "The July Mass Uprising Through My Eyes."
Youths aged 15 to 30 who are students of secondary, higher secondary, or university levels will be eligible to participate in the contest.
Additionally, members of clubs, debate societies, scouts, rovers, and cultural organizations may participate only as teams. Priority will be given to female participants.
While preparing ideas, the following criteria must be followed:
A 1–2 page concept paper (in Bengali or English) must be included; Title of the idea; Introduction of the idea;
Detailed description (including location), objectives, and expected impact;
Specific roles of each team member in implementing the idea; Creativity and innovation potential; Uniqueness of the proposal; Desired outcomes; Relevance to the mass uprising; and Compatibility with local culture.
The timeline for proposal submission is from July 1 to 10. Proposals will be evaluated on July 11, final selection on July 12, implementation from July 13 to 31, and the idea exhibition will be held on August 5.
