Tree plantation programme held at KU in memory of martyr Mugdho

KHULNA, July 19, 2025 (BSS) - KU Insiders, a campus-based online platform of Khulna University organized a tree plantation programme in memory of July martyr Mir Mahfuzur Rahman Mugdho today.

KU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md Rezaul Karim inaugurated the programme as the chief guest by planting fruit and flower saplings beside the fourth academic building.

Calling the July Uprising a pivotal chapter in the nation's history, the VC praised KU Insiders for their environmentally conscious initiative, stating that it would help raise awareness among students about both ecological sustainability and the spirit of the movement.

Among others present at the event were KU Acting Registrar Professor Dr. S. M. Mahbubur Rahman, Estate Section Head S. M. Mohammad Ali, President and General Secretary of the KU Journalists' Association Alkama Romin and Mirazul Islam, and KU Insiders admin Al Mamun.

The event concluded with a special prayer led by Mufti Abdul Quddus, senior Imam of the KU mosque, seeking eternal peace for Mugdho and all martyrs of the July Uprising.
