DHAKA, July 19, 2025 (BSS) - The national rally of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islam has begun at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan, pressing for a seven-point demand that include ensuring a level playing field for a free, fair, impartial and peaceful election.

The rally was started formally around 2pm from recitation of the Holy quran. Jamaat's Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman is presiding over the national rally.

People have been gathering in the capital since this morning.

The Suhrawardy Udyan and its surrounding areas were filled to the brim with the presence of the party's leaders and activists long before the rally began. Thousands of Jamaat leaders and activists are stationed in most areas of the capital outside the park.

The seven demands are: ensuring a level playing field for free, fair, impartial and peaceful election, holding trial of all genocides including July genocide, ensuring necessary fundamental reforms, implementation of the July Charter and Declaration, rehabilitation of the families of those martyred and injured in the July mass uprising, holding national elections through the PR system and making voting arrangements for over one crore expatriates Bangladeshis.
