"Country's development not possible without research"

CHATTOGRAM, July 23, 2025 (BSS) - Chairman of the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council and Senior Secretary Mohammad Wahid Hasan NDC today said that the country's development is not possible without research.

"There are many problems in our country, so research is essential to find solutions," he said.

He made these remarks while delivering a speech as the chief guest at a symposium titled "Innovation Power Infrastructure: Advancing Clean Affordable Energy for Bangladesh's Future" at the central auditorium of CUET this afternoon.

The symposium was organized under the joint initiative of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) at Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) and the Bangladesh Energy and Power Research Council (BEPRC).

"Everyone must be conscious and committed to ensuring that our research outcomes contribute effectively to the nation's development and public welfare," he added.

Professor Dr. Tofail Ahmed of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering presided over the function, while CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, BEPRC Member Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, and Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering at CUET Professor Dr. Kazi Delair Hossain, among others, were present.
