China, FAO discuss enhancing food security in Bangladesh

DHAKA, July 24, 2025 (BSS) - China and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations today held discussions on enhancing agricultural cooperation and strengthening food security in Bangladesh through trilateral initiatives. 

The discussion took place when Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen met with Ye Anping, Director of FAO's South-South and Triangular Cooperation Division, at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka. 

During the meeting, both sides explored avenues for deepening collaboration between China and FAO in supporting Bangladesh's agricultural development and long-term food security goals, said a press release of the Chinese Embassy here. 

Dr Shi Jiaqun, FAO Country Representative in Bangladesh, was also present at the meeting.

The discussions focused on promoting practical trilateral cooperation involving China, FAO, and Bangladesh in key sectors such as sustainable agriculture, technology transfer, and capacity building.
