Week-long joint forces’ drives arrest 262: ISPR

DHAKA, July 24, 2025 (BSS) – Teams of joint forces, in a weeklong nationwide drive, arrested 262 crime suspects, including identified terrorists and perpetrators of mob violence.
 
“Units under several infantry divisions and independent brigades of the Bangladesh Army carried out multiple joint operations in different parts of the country, including the capital, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies from July 17, 2025, to July 24, 2025,” according to a statement from the Inter-Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) issued today.
 
It said the operations yielded the arrest of 262 crime suspects, including identified terrorists, gangsters, perpetrators of mob violence, extortionists, adolescent gang members, and people illegally possessing weapons.
 
During the drive, the joint forces seized 17 illegally possessed firearms, 133 different types of ammunition, illegal drugs of various types, locally made weapons, and stolen goods such as motorcycles, mobile phones, and cash.
 
The arrested individuals were handed over to respective police stations.
 
“To ensure public security nationwide, the military is conducting routine patrols in different areas,” the statement said, simultaneously urging people to report to nearby military camps if they come across any suspicious activities.
