Akheri Chahar Shamba to be observed Aug 20

DHAKA, July 25, 2025 (BSS) - The holy Akheri Chahar Shamba will be observed across the country on August 20 (Wednesday) marking the recovery of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SM) from prolonged illness.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the national moon-sighting committee at the conference room of the Islamic Foundation, Baitul Mukarram on Friday evening with Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A.F.M. Khalid Hossain in the chair, said a press release.

As the new moon was not sighted on the sky of the country on Friday, so the holy month of Safar will begin from July 27 and the holy Akheri Chahar Shamba will be observed on 25th of Safar, 1447 Hijri or August 20 (Wednesday), 2025.
