JAHANGIRNAGAR UNIVERSITY, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - Jahangirnagar University Higher Study Club (JUHSC) organized its flagship event, 'Higher Study 360 Degree-2025', on Friday.

The day-long seminar was held at the seminar room of the Zahir Rayhan Auditorium, with participation of over 300 students from various departments of the university, said a press release signed by its Media Director Mah Alam this morning.

JU Proctor Prof Dr A K M Rashidul Alam attended the event as the chief guest, while chief advisor to the club Assistant Professor Mehedi Hasan Dipu of the Accounting and Information Systems Department and co-founder Abu Sayem Rimon were also present.

The event formally felicitated 25 students from Jahangirnagar University who were recently accepted for higher studies abroad.

Besides, students from different faculties shared their personal journeys in securing international scholarships and admissions. Key sessions included discussions on the Erasmus Mundus and the Commonwealth Scholarship programmes. Sohel Iqbal from EducationUSA delivered an in-depth talk on the application process and Statement of Purpose (SoP) writing, while IDP Bangladesh conducted a special masterclass on IELTS preparation.

Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker Shawon, President of Jahangirnagar University Higher Study Club, said "One of the biggest barriers to pursuing higher education abroad is the fear of dreaming big and the lack of proper information."

"This programme not only encourages students to dream but also provides a comprehensive roadmap to achieving their academic goals. Each year, many students from Jahangirnagar University are going abroad for higher studies, and the Higher Study Club is playing a crucial role in this progress," he added.

Since its inception, the JUHSC has been committed to empowering students by organizing seminars on overseas education, IELTS and GRE preparation sessions, and workshops on scholarships and university applications to guide aspiring students toward global academic opportunities.
