DHAKA, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) today said the push-in of people into Bangladesh territory by India has decreased due to continued protest.

“Push-in is no way accepted. We are constantly protesting the move and it works as the push-ins has decreased significantly,” he said after visiting the RAB-11 Headquarters at Adamjinagar under Siddhirganj Police Station in Narayanganj.

While replying to a question about the government measures to stop cross-border push-ins, he said they repeatedly called upon the Indian authorities to stop push-ins.

He continued that the Indian authorities have been urged to follow due process of law to send back Bangladeshis if they have.

Instead of following the legal process, India is leaving people in the jungles and rivers which are a gross violation of human rights.

Replying to a question about measures against police personnel for whose negligence a journalist was robbed of in the capital’s Mohammadpur area, the Home Adviser said four cops have already been attached in this connection while three snatchers were arrested and the snatched mobile phone was seized.

“They will be exposed to justice if they are found guilty of negligence,” he said.

Director General of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) AKM Shahidur Rahman was present.
