Former DG of Islamic Foundation Shamsul Alam passes away

DHAKA, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - Former Director General of Islamic Foundation A. Z. M. Shamsul Alam passed away while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the capital on Friday.

A. Z. M. Shamsul Alam served as the Director General of Islamic Foundation for two terms from 1979-1982 and 2003-2005. 

His Namaj-e Janaza was held at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque after Zuhr prayers today. 

Shamsul Alam was a prominent Islamic thinker and one of the founders of Al-Arafah Islami Bank.

The Islamic Foundation family expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Shamsul Alam.

They also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
