CHATTOGRAM, July 26, 2025 (BSS)- Adviser of Liberation War Affairs Faruk-e-Azam Bir Pratik has said that the July warriors are an integral part of the history of democratic Bangladesh.
"Bangladesh will always remember them with respect for their sacrifices. I believe that the government and people of this country will always honour their sacrifice and stand beside them for their well-being,” he said.
Faruk-e-Azam made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the July anniversary celebration, cultural programme and honouring of the families of July martyrs and injured warriors and doa mahfil organized by the “Warriors of July, Chattogram” at the city’s Shilpakala Academy Auditorium today.
Adviser Faruk-e-Azam mentioned that a separate department has already been established for the rehabilitation of July warriors.
At least 20 officers led by an additional secretary have been appointed and are working round the clock on the issues related to the interests of the July fighters.
The advisor also mentioned that in addition to the monthly allowance, the "wounded fighters” of July Uprising will receive free treatment in government medical hospitals for life.
He also said that the recognized "July fighters" will receive one-time and monthly allowances according to their category.
“The names of the martyrs of the July Uprising have been acknowledged as "July martyrs" and the injured as "July fighters".
The injured July fighters will receive monthly allowances in three categories - 'A', 'B' and 'C', he said.
Category 'A' will receive an allowance of Tk 20,000 per month, category 'B' will receive an allowance of Tk 15,000 per month and category C will receive allowance of Tk 10,000 per month.
Certificates and identity cards are being issued for them accordingly,” he added.
Mohammad Abdullah Al Shahed, convener of Warriors of July, and District Civil Surgeon Jahangir Alam were the special guest.
Shaheed Ismam's brother Md. Muhib, an injured July warrior and member secretary of the organization Rakibul Islam also spoke on the occasion.
Government officials, students, families of July injured were present at the event.
