July Uprising an epic of resistance: Adviser Farooki

DHAKA, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki today described the 2024 July Uprising as "an epic of resistance." 

"The July Uprising is an epic of standing up about resistance. The youth of this country talked about their dream Bangladesh through graffiti on the walls. The realization of the July aspirations lies in establishing justice in the society," Farooki said.

He made the remarks while addressing the premiere screening of the film Unknown 30Y, based on the life and sacrifice of martyr Tahir Zaman Priyo, who gave his life during the July Uprising. 

The event was held at the National Museum auditorium in the capital.

The screening was attended by prominent personalities including renowned photographer Shahidul Alam, Priyo's mother Shamsi Ara Zaman, historian and organizer Amirul Rajib and the film's director Rajat Tanmoy, among others.
